Review answers to standard technical, financial, utility, and maintenance queries.

General Questions

Solar panels contain silicon photovoltaic (PV) cells. When sunlight hits these cells, it knocks electrons loose, generating direct current (DC) electricity. The solar inverter then converts this DC electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity, which powers standard household appliances.
Yes, solar panels still function during cloudy or overcast conditions, but their efficiency drops compared to direct, bright sunlight. UTL's Mono Perc Half-Cut panels are specifically engineered to optimize low-light diffusion, maximizing power generation during monsoon seasons.

Financials & Subsidy Scheme

It is the latest national scheme by the Government of India aiming to provide free electricity to households by subsidizing rooftop solar systems. The central subsidy structure offers ₹30,000 for 1kW systems, ₹60,000 for 2kW systems, and is capped at ₹78,000 for residential installations of 3kW and above.
Once the system is installed, synchronized via net metering, and checked by the local utility inspector, Kutal Electrical uploads the final commissioning report to the National Portal. The subsidy is typically disbursed directly into the consumer's linked bank account within 30 to 45 business days.

Technical & Maintenance

Solar panels have no moving mechanical components, making them extremely low-maintenance. Homeowners only need to clean dust, leaves, or bird droppings off the panels with water once or twice a month. Regular visual inspections of cables and structural mounting are recommended.
Net metering is a billing mechanism that credits solar system owners for the electricity they add to the grid. When your rooftop solar generates more power than you consume, the surplus is fed back into the grid, running your utility meter backward. At the end of the month, you only pay for the net units consumed.
